OPEN ARMS STAFF

We select staff members who have a love of children and a passion to help each child succeed.

All of our teachers and staff meet the qualifications set by the State of Florida and are required to have:

– 45 hours of Child Care Training

– Level 2 background screening

– 24 hours of continuing education per year

– CPR and First Aid training

Each classroom is staffed by a lead teacher and assistant teachers as required by the Florida statues.

Preschool Director

I have been the Director of Open Arms since October 2010.  I have 25 years of experience in childcare, and I am passionate about sharing the love of Jesus with children and helping them grow in a nurturing, faith-filled environment.

Outside of work, Angie enjoys spending time with her family—especially during her favorite season, fall—cheering on her beloved Florida Gators. She has been married to her husband Stephen for 25 years, and together they have two grown sons, Tre and Trevor.

Assistant Director

I am proud to serve as the assistant director here at Open Arms Preschool. I am going into my 17th school year here. My passion is creating a nurturing and engaging environment where children can thrive. I work closely with our amazing team to make sure that every day at Open Arms is filled with fun, learning, and growing!

When I’m not at the school I enjoy spending time with my family, being near the water, and listening to a good podcast!

I enjoy working here over the past 12 years. Open arms have created an environment of love, care, and nurturing, not only for the children and families but also the staff. 

In my spare time I love cheering on my Gators and relaxing at home with a book.

Honey Bears (VPK) Teacher

I have been a VPK teacher at Open Arms for the last 17 years. Teaching young children has always been a passion of mine, and I feel blessed to be a part of their early learning journey in a faith filled environment. I love creating a warm, supportive classroom where children feel safe, nurtured and excited to learn.

Outside of the classroom I am a wife of 29 years and mom to 3 boys, I love spending time with my family, reading and relaxing on the beach.

I’m Ms. Kylie, and I’m so excited to be part of your child’s early learning journey this year! I’m honored to care for, teach, and grow alongside your little one. I’ve been working in early childcare for 6 years (2 at Open Arms), and I absolutely love it. In our classroom, we learn through play, exploration, and positive interactions. My goal is to help your child feel happy, confident, and ready to learn every day!
