Pastor Glover joined FLC in August 2014. Throughout his ministry he served churches in Berkeley, Menlo Park, and Stockton, California, Palatine, Illinois, and Hamilton, Ohio. His heart is in teaching God’s message to his congregation members, families, and the surrounding communities. He graduated from Concordia Theological Seminary in St. Louis in 1991 and completed his undergraduate studies at Concordia New York. He served FLC as campus pastor during his internship/vicarage at the University of Florida. This is when he discovered his passion for teaching and ministering to young adults. He is a life-long learner and avid reader. He enjoys sharing good food with good friends. He loves playing and listening to live music and his tastes are vast and wide. With roots in New Jersey, and a love for the coast, John, his wife, and daughter are very excited to serve FLC.

Hye Jin has learned and played the piano since the age of six, and she earned her bachelor’s degree in piano performance at Sookmyung Women’s University in Seoul, South Korea. She started her career as an organist at Westminster Presbyterian Church of Gainesville, and during her time there she furthered her goal of growing her skills as an organist by earning a Master of Music degree in pipe organ performance at the University of Florida’s School of Music. She has been serving the First Lutheran Church of Gainesville as the music director since November, 2017. Hye Jin hopes that her music can help people to get one step closer to God and to experiencing genuine worship. She loves to cook and to listen to music, but above all she loves to be the wife of her loving husband and the mother of her two beautiful daughters.
Angie has been the Open Arms CDC Director since October 2010. She has worked in childcare for 14 years and enjoys seeing the children learn about the love of Jesus. A huge Gator football fan and Angie likes going to the games with her two boys. She believes it is truly a blessing to work at Open Arms Lutheran Child Development Center and serve the Gainesville community and its families in this way.
Leeann has over 20 years of office management and customer service experience. 18 in the Sales Department of Infinite Energy, Inc. and 13 years with home care agencies and hospice. Leeann enjoys her family; husband Jeff and two spunky dogs Rusty and Josie. Spending time with friends and family eating good food and laughing is a joy. Reading and gardening are favorite pastimes.
